Creative Kids Magazine Named a Parents' Choice Recommended Award Winner

Creative Kids Magazine

Creative Kids magazine, the nation’s leading magazine for kids by kids ages 8–16, has been named a Parents’ Choice Recommended Award Winner for 2011. In reviewing the magazine, Parents’ Choice committee member Teresa DiFalco noted that, “Creative Kids is a little like The New Yorker for the 8 to 16 set,” adding that it is “packed with writing” and “a wonderful way to encourage the creative spark in any child.”

Founded in 1978 by an author and educator, “Parents’ Choice is the nation’s oldest nonprofit guide to quality children’s media and toys,” according to the organization’s website. Its goal is to “provide parents with information to participate wisely in their children’s learning.” Companies submit products for review and a committee of parents selects the award winners among them.

Creative Kids was founded more than 20 years ago as a magazine to promote children’s talent in the arts and writing. It currently publishes four quarterly, full-color issues with no advertising that feature prose, poetry, artwork, games, essays, and more from kids around the world. Everything in the magazine is written for kids, by kids just like them!
