Virginia Hays Burney, Ph.D.

Virginia H. Burney, Ph.D., is a long-time advocate for gifted students and consults with teachers, districts, and state departments across the U.S. in the development of high-quality services for gifted learners. She teaches graduate courses at Ball State University in educational psychology relating to gifted education and has experience as a principal, school counselor, guidance director, math teacher, and school board member. Ginny is a past president and current Advocacy Co-Chair of the Indiana Association for the Gifted; she served 5 years on the Board of the National Association for Gifted Children and received the David W. Belin Advocacy Award in 2012. She and her husband are parents of three gifted children, now adults.
