Virginia Hays Burney, Ph.D.

Virginia H. Burney, Ph.D., teaches graduate courses in educational psychology relating to gifted education at Ball State University. She is also a consultant to the Indiana Department of Education on matters related to high ability education and consults with school districts and organizations for gifted program evaluations, research, professional development, and conference presentations. She has experience as a principal, school counselor, guidance director, math teacher, and school board member. Ginny is a past president of the Indiana Association for the Gifted and continues to serve on the IAG Board. She served 5 years on the Board of the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) and currently is chair of the NAGC Administrator Task Force. Her passion is advocacy and encouraging the development of high-quality gifted services. She and her husband are the parents of three gifted children, now young adults.
