Elissa F. Brown, Ph.D.

Elissa F. Brown, Ph.D., is Director of Secondary Projects at the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction where she is engaged in statewide reform efforts for middle and high schools. Prior to her work at the state department, she was the director of the Center for Gifted Education at The College of William & Mary. She serves on the board of directors for the North Carolina Association for Research in Education (NCARE). She is a published author in the field of gifted education, and she is the recipient of the National Association for Gifted Children's 2004 Early Leader award. She has coordinated state and national gifted conferences and keynotes widely on a variety of topics. She has three children and resides in Chapel Hill, NC.
