Juss Kaur Magon, D.Phil.

Juss Kaur Magon received her B.Sc. (Chemistry) from Concordia University, diplomas in teaching and gifted education from McGill University, and an M.Sc. and D.Phil. (Educational Research) from Oxford University. She is an international education consultant and has successfully mentored more than 800 teachers in Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, India, and Nigeria with Pearson Education and independently. Her expertise lies in the field of education for the gifted and inquiry-based teaching and learning strategies involving critical thinking skills and self-directed learning. Earlier in her career, Dr. Kaur Magon was a department head and teacher in mathematics and science at various secondary schools across England, the United States, and Canada. Over the years, Dr. Kaur Magon has been instrumental in the planning, implementation, and execution of several gifted programs, and is presently involved in an ongoing consultation and training of teachers in inquiry-based learning and teaching in India. Dr. Kaur Magon has been involved in inquiry-related research in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, for a decade, where she was also an adjunct professor. Her in-depth experience in working at all levels of school life enables her to work very closely with school management and teachers to raise student achievement by motivating them intrinsically. Dr. Kaur Magon is also a visual artist. She has exhibited her work in Canada, Singapore, and London. Recently she published the book Mantra Art: The Journey Within, which is a compilation of all of her paintings.
