R. Brigham Lampert

A National Board Certified Teacher and a Virginia Department of Education Teacher-as-Leader, Lampert has been nominated for several national commendations, including a 2008 Nobel Educator of Distinction selection by the National Society of High School Scholars and a 2006 Disney Teacher Award. He was awarded a scholarship for Excellence in Gifted Education and earned his M.Ed. from the College of William and Mary, having received his B.A. in English from Haverford College. He most recently earned professional certification from Harvard University in its Religious Studies and Education program.

Lampert has authored three titles in the Advanced Placement Classroom series, concerning King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, and The Scarlet Letter, as well as Perfect 800: SAT Verbal, all available from Prufrock Press. He has published original poems in various national journals, written six Shakespearean titles in the College of William and Mary’s Center for Gifted Education’s Navigator series, and coauthored and edited three updated editions of the Center’s award-winning literature units for gifted learners. Additionally trained as a building administrator, Lampert was a longtime chair of the English department at Jamestown High School in Williamsburg, where he now heads Gifted Education.
