Brian E. Scott, Ed.D., grew up in Warsaw, IN, and began his educational career in 1982 as a sixth-grade teacher in a small rural school. He has taught fourth, fifth, and sixth grades in a variety of configurations. He taught one year as a pull-out gifted and talented teacher and coached teachers to differentiate instruction for students in the general education classroom. In 2004 he was hired as an assistant principal and then as the principal in a suburban district just outside Indianapolis and served in that capacity before retiring from administration in 2016. He continued his studies and earned his Ed.D. from Ball State University in 2012. He came out of retirement and has served multiple educational roles as an adjunct professor, principal, and instructional coach. Dr. Scott has been a presenter and consultant at the local, state, and national levels. He has created teacher workshops on active and engaging social studies, hands-on activities to enhance mathematics instruction, and high-yielding instructional strategies for creating a high-performing differentiated classroom.
