Review: Tulsa Book Review - March 18, 2019
Delisle explores what giftedness is (and what it’s not), offers plenty advice for understanding your child, discusses how to get their education right, and makes you feel like you’re not alone. Readers will likely see their child in a whole new light. Delisle helps a generation of often misunderstood children find their best advocates in those who love them most and offers parents ways to help their gifted child succeed in a world that doesn’t understand them.

Throughout the book, Delisle provides a combination of guidance and reassurance, offering valuable professional direction without hitting readers over the head or using inaccessible language. And he allows space for the subjects of his prose by including quotes from gifted individuals at the end of each chapter. This publication would make an excellent addition to your resource library, as would the numerous other books Jim Delisle has written.

This is a truly rewarding book for parents of gifted children to read, providing insight and understanding of giftedness. Delisle covers a range of topics from the intensity of giftedness to organising the best type of education and how parents champion their gifted child without offending educators.

Exceptionally well written, organized and presented, "Understanding Your Gifted Child From the Inside Out" is very highly recommended to the attention of the parents of a gifted child and should be a part of every community, school district, college, and university library Parenting and Gifted Children instructional reference collection.
