An essential resource for parents
Empathy is such a complex subject to approach with children; like they get it instinctively when they’re little but as they grow the more difficult it is for them to not only empathize with their peers but also with their parents. Christine’s book helped me learn how to take a different approach to talking with my tween so she cares more about her behavior towards others and how we can help her understand empathy better. I’ve still got a lot to learn, and my daughter seems to be in a constant state of change which makes things even more challenging, but this book really helped give me a tremendous head start. Highly recommend.

The Book Every Teacher Needs to Read
Christine Fonseca is an outstanding storyteller, and in this book, she demonstrates her capacity to do in-depth research and present her findings in a clear, intuitive, and pragmatic style. Her book has a wonderful balance between strong scientific fact, heart-warming anecdotes, and strategies that you can start applying right from the beginning.
In my role as an educator, I always knew the importance of fostering a caring classroom, but I frequently felt lost trying to decide the right strategies to communicate these ideas to my students and to create consensus with parents and other teachers. 'The Caring Child' is a wonderful tool not only to gain clarity on the topic of emotional intelligence but also to establish common ground within the school community to give our children the support they desperately need.

Excellent!
This is such an important and timely book! Christine Fonseca gives voice to this generation's unique differences and explains the reasons for this difference in a clear, researched manner. More importantly, she provides multiple easy-to-implement ways to raise caring, empathetic, yet resilient children in this technology-laden time period.
The format of this book make it very easy to read, whether you read it cover to cover or when looking for specific resources and ideas. There are action steps at the end of each chapter for parents, whiteboard workshop for educators, and tip sheets for us all. You will want to keep this book on your bookshelf forever as it is loaded with activities and resources.
After reading this book, I have decided that I will add it to every baby gift shower gift I give from now on. We all can make the world a better place by buying this book and putting it in practice!

The Caring Child is an important and timely read for all parents. . . . It is imperative that parents today create an environment of love and support; modeling behavior they want to be seen in their children. But that’s a tall order. The Caring Child is a toolbox of ideas on how this can be done.

The author does a fine job of providing both a work that can be used not only by educators but at the same time by parents and even by the child at older levels of development. The work is very easy to read and once engaged the reader will move easy from chapter to chapter. Well referenced and with the author's "Tip Sheets" the reader will develop a deeper understanding of the iGen or Gen Z as they read along.
