Each year, the third week in July is designated National Parenting Gifted Children Week (NPGC), and this year marks the fifth annual celebration. According to SENG, the official sponsor, “NPGC Week celebrates the joys and challenges of raising, guiding, and supporting bright young minds.” SENG has organized a blog tour through Saturday, July 21, in which bloggers in both the gifted and parenting communities are posting blogs focused on parenting gifted children.

In addition, SENG is offering a free eBook, The Joy and the Challenge: Parenting Gifted Children, available for the Kindle and Nook and from Smashwords.

To help maximize the opportunity to raise awareness about and advocate for gifted education and gifted children this week (and throughout the year), the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) has also prepared helpful suggestions for parents. For more information on parenting gifted children, visit the parenting section on NAGC’s website.

Happy National Parenting Gifted Children Week!
