That's why this newly updated and significantly expanded third edition of Methods and Materials for Teaching the Gifted is such a highly advised and strongly recommended addition to school libraries and university teaching department reference collections and classroom teacher supplemental reading lists. Deftly compiled and edited by Frances A. Karnes (Professor of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education, University of Southern Mississippi) and Suzanne M. Bean (Director of the Roger F. Wicker Center for Creative Learning and Professor of Education, Mississippi University for Women), Methods and Materials for Teaching the Gifted is a compilation of twenty-three informed and informative articles by experts, scholars, and researchers in the field of gifted education, addressing a variety of thematically appropriate issues relevant to gifted education curriculum development, including assessing the needs of gifted students, instructional planning and evaluation, educational strategies, as well as supporting and enhancing gifted student programs.
