Dinosaur Dictionary for Kids
This is a very interesting and informative book for kids of all ages. It contains all kinds of fascinating facts that even adults can enjoy. It is well-written without too much scientific jargon to make it difficult to understand and the illustrations are incredible. There is so much to learn from this book that many will immerse themselves in it. I especially enjoyed the quiz at the end to test my knowledge! I have already suggested this book to many of my co-workers, and many have bought it for their children. I give it a high recommendation for anyone interested in dinosaurs!

Dinosaur Dictionary for Kids
I found Dinosaur Dictionary for Kids to be very informative, interesting and easy to comprehend. My grandchildren will love it!! The writing and illustrations are superb. This book has a wealth of information for kids without losing them in difficult scientific and technical terminology. I also liked the section of "Other Animals of the Mesozoic Era" and feel kids would enjoy more information about some of these animals. The activities section at the end of the book is a great idea to engage the kids and stimulate imagination.

Dinosaur Dictionary for Kids
Dinosaur Dictionary for Kids is a fantastic book with an understated title. It is far more than a dictionary and it it reaches all the way to “kids” who are naturalists like me working with school children in our seventh decade. The core of the book is the description of a wide variety of dinosaurs arranged chronologically over millions of years. Each species includes its pronunciation, size, characteristics and the science behind these details, i.e. how we know what we know. Interspersed are details on dinosaur color, feathers, eggs, nests and dung as well as climate and plate tectonics, all lively descriptions presented at a student’s level. Other chapters discuss a few of the insects, reptiles, birds and mammals that coexisted with dinosaurs.

A typical page describes a 98 foot long Argentinosaurus that could reach up 7 stories and the 24 inch Bambiraptor discovered by a 14 year old boy at Glacier National Park. This is a must for any kid that ever wondered about dinosaurs.

What a fantastic book! Our two grandsons, ages 7 and 9, simply love it. They’ve spent hours reading and learning. Although the kiddos think it’s a “fun read,” we are amazed at what an educational experience they are having. Not only are they improving their reading and pronunciation skills, but it is also inspiring them to delve more deeply into math and geography. They love to compare the sizes and weights listed to modern day animals and are having fun exploring maps to see where the various creatures could have been found. Thank you, Prufrock Press and Bob Korpella. This book is a wonderful addition to the Grandkid's library!

Dinophiles, rejoice! One hundred and seventy-six dinosaurs lead the big parade, alphabetically within their periods in the Mesozoic era, followed by floats of mostly Mesozoic fish, insects, early birds, flying reptiles, and more . . . Ample, up-to-date grist for the dino-mill, sure to have youngsters wheedling for a vacation to those geological sites.

Probably nothing in the world fascinates kids as much as dinosaurs. There are plenty of books out there, but this may be one of the best to come along in quite a while. This should become the go-to book for middle-grade readers and above who have an interest in dinosaurs . . . The writing is snappy and the information fun and fascinating. Kids will love this book and will wear it out reading it over and over. A winner!

The Dinosaur Dictionary for Kids by Bob Korpella is so beautifully illustrated that it did not surprise me when it turned out to be a Prufrock book. Prufrock knows how to illustrate its pages—clear to the edges.

In my teaching fantasy world, I would buy a book for each child. It would be my reading program and my science program. And at the end of the year, each child would take this book home to keep and use forever.

Short of that, just buy Dinosaur Dictionary for Kids for your own children, your grandchildren, and at least a few copies for your classroom.
