Classroom Management for Gifted and Twice-Exceptional Students Using Functional Behavior Assessment
Far too often, twice-exceptional students are missed for gifted services or their behavior is misunderstood.  Additionally,  services for special education and gifted are not coordinated leading to siloed and disjointed efforts to provide appropriate services. As a director for advanced learning in a large, sub/urban district, this resource will be invaluable in building collaborative efforts to better identify and serve 2E students.  With prepared presentation including scripts, each specialty area gains more expertise in the other field.  The vignettes provide real-world examples that will help participants and readers apply the new knowledge to their own students.  The included activities will save precious time as they are ready to use immediately. The authors are knowledgeable in both gifted and special education providing a unique lens to the topic of 2E.  I have already shared this with our SE leadership and we are making plan on how to best utilize this powerful resource.
