"Being You - A Girl´s Guide To Mindfulness"
Catharine Hannay`s book “Being You” is for me, as a teacher and mother to a teenage daughter, an amazing helpful collection of useful mindfulness tools, studies and examples. The book is easy to read and understand and the suggested practical activities are well thought through, with relevant and important questions and practices, well explained and prepared. Catharine Hannay’s vivid and compelling examples and obvious experience with teenagers and young lives shines through in the most positive way.
An extra bonus of reading the book is the wellbeing that comes when connecting to the mindset and sentiment behind the book. It’s a joy, and it gives new hope towards becoming more human and living more fully in this precious life. Surely, there are many young girls that will benefit from the specific teachings and wisdom this book has to offer.

Being You: A Girl's Guide to Mindfulness
This book is a valuable introduction to mindfulness for teenage girls. The conversational tone used throughout the book makes it easy and fun to read. The mindfulness-based exercises offered are practical and relevant for teenage girls today. The author cites many personal anecdotes from her own teenage years, offering understanding and compassion for what the teenage reader might be experiencing. As a children’s mindfulness facilitator, I highly recommend this book for all teenage girls.

A Much-Needed Book for Girls
I love this book about mindfulness for teen girls. It provides many opportunities for the reader to reflect and learn about practicing mindfulness. ('Do I Think Before I Speak?' is one of my favorites.) The book is very engaging with a great layout and fun chapter titles. Author Catharine Hannay shares her own experiences with mindfulness as well as many other very age-appropriate examples. This resource for girls ages 14-16 will help them have the tools needed not only during times of stress and anxiety, but in everyday life.

Practical, Thorough, Yet Simple
Being You is a practical, thorough and yet simple way for girls to enhance their lives and well-being as they learn about the topic of mindfulness. I have read many books on this topic and none check ALL the boxes the way this one does!!! I will be using for all my students.

Essentially an instructional guide and manual, Being You: A Girl's Guide to Mindfulness is exceptionally well written, organized and presented -- making it an ideal and unreservedly recommended addition to the personal reading lists of teenage girls, as well as highschool and community library Self-Help/Self-Improvement collections.
