Jana Kirchner, Ph.D.
Jana Kirchner, Ph.D., is the Instructional Supervisor for Simpson County Schools in Franklin, KY. She has 26 years of experience in education, which includes being an assistant professor in the School of Teacher Education at Western Kentucky University, a Social Studies Consultant, an ACT Quality Core facilitator, and a high school English and social studies teacher. She earned her Ph.D. in educational leadership, with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction, from the University of Louisville. She has provided professional development, coached teachers, presented at state and national conferences, coauthored Parenting Gifted Children 101 with Dr. Tracy Inman and Decoding the Past: Inquiry-Based Lessons in U.S. History with Dr. Andrew McMichael, and written articles and book chapters on social studies, differentiation, content literacy, and teaching strategies.
