Differentiating Instruction With Menus: Math for grades 3–5 offers teachers everything needed to create a student-centered learning environment based on choice. This book provides five different types of menus that students can use to select exciting products that they will develop so teachers can assess what has been learned—instead of using a traditional worksheet format. Topics addressed include whole numbers and operations, fractions, probability and statistics, geometry, measurement, and problem solving.

Differentiating Instruction With Menus: Math contains attractive reproducible menus, each based on the levels of Bloom’s Revised taxonomy, for students to use to guide them in making decisions as to which products they will develop after studying a major concept or unit. Using creative and challenging choices found in Tic-Tac- Toe menus, List menus, 2-5-8 menus, Baseball menus, and Game Show menus, students will look forward to sharing their newfound knowledge throughout the year. Also included are specific guidelines for products, rubrics for assessing student products, and teacher introduction pages for each menu. This is a must-have for any teacher wanting to differentiate for gifted and advanced learners!

Dynamic Resource
I am a Gifted and Talented facilitator and I work with gifted students as well as teachers. Laurie Westphal’s Differentiated Instruction Menu books are always in demand with my K-5 teachers!

I use them as examples on the best and most convenient way to differentiate curriculum when I teach Differentiated Instruction to teachers earning their 30 hour Foundational Training hours to be certified to teach gifted students.

These are the best menu books on differentiated instruction on the market!

Differentiating Instruction with Menus
All of the Differentiating Instruction with Menus books are amazing! They are very easy to use and include premade menus for all of the topics covered in my grade level. They give the students the ability to choose what products they complete, and that has made a huge difference for participation and enthusiasm in class! I use them all and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good way to differentiate instruction in the classroom!
